One finished, and another UFO for the list

Top is finished

I managed to get 1 quilt top finished yesterday, for our Senior Quilt Project at church. I spent September – November cutting squares. I had some help, so did not do them all, but if you do the math – 12 quilts x 80 squares (8 1/2″), you can imagine I got a little bored with that. We picked out so many fabulous fabrics when we went on our little journey to Amish Country near Lancaster PA last summer shopping.
All the quilts for the young men will be primary colors; and the girls will be in tones of teal, purple and a little pink. We tried to pick out some things that “went” with the student in some of the novelty fabric.
This particular quilt is for a girl who likes “hedgehogs”….we also picked out some scouting fabric and some band and musical intstrument fabric.
We have lots of plain muslin squares, where the congregation will write little messages of faith and love. So; now there a two finished out of the 13 total that need made this spring (before EasterJ)
