Quick links for paper piecing

A friend of mine suggested I post a list of some of the sites I like.  That afternoon, I was answering a question of another friend by email; and compiled a list for her to look at.  The subject was paper piecing.   I am sharing that info here today.

There are some decent videos on You tube about Paper piecing or foundation piecing.  ;
check out :
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8uaW26igygE   This is the Crafty Gemini, and she does explain well.  I recommend an “add a quarter” ruler and a stiff card; like cardstock. When she folds the paper back; if you insert a stiff card, it helps you get a crisp straight line.  Then you lay your ruler and “add a quarter inch”.  You must be able to set your stitch length to about 1.5 on your machine.
She has a much more extensive design and shows you the “add a quarter ruler”….the one she has is about12″; I have a 6”; so it depends on your pattern if you need the big or small ruler.
Mary Fons of the FONS & PORTER”S LOVE OF QUILTING/ QUILTY has a nice video too;   http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bNzg78tsF7g part 1
And finally; here on WordPress, a blog I follow has a nice tutorial:
In the class I took, we used our flat head pins to keep our fabric in place so we didn’t have a problem.  Have not used glue stick, but heard it works.  The class I took was taught by an award winning quilter, and most of the tips and techniques she shared with us are covered in these video’s & blogs.
Happy Quilting
